Research school retreat

An annual retreat of the International Helmholtz Research School for Diabetes provides students with the opportunity to present their current research projects and discuss their ideas and future career steps. The International Research School for Diabetes provides an excellent opportunity for networking and teambuilding. Graduate students are expected to participate at least twice during their studies.

HDC retreat

The Helmholtz Diabetes Center organizes an annual two-day retreat. Researchers as well as external guests present their latest results and discuss key future questions of diabetes research. The retreat is open for all HDC staff. Graduate students of the International Helmholtz Research School for Diabetes will have the opportunity to attend the HDC retreat during their PhD project period.

Institute retreats

Individual HDC institutes in diabetes research arrange closed annual 1-2 day retreats, which provide the opportunity to discuss and brainstorm projects without restrictions and distraction. Graduate students of the International Helmholtz Research School for Diabetes can attend their institute's retreat.

Alberta-British Columbia Islet Workshop

The ADI offers a retreat researching islet biology which will be open for students of the International Helmholtz Research School for Diabetes.
