HRD Research, Careers and Community Day 2026 - Brings Researchers Together

On May 5, 2026, the Helmholtz Research School for Diabetes (HRD), together with members of the doctoral researcher organizing team, hosted the HRD Research, Careers and Community Day 2026 at the Helmholtz Munich Conference Centre.

The one-day event brought together doctoral researchers, invited speakers, and members of the HRD community to foster scientific exchange, career development, and networking across disciplines.

The program featured a keynote lecture by Dr. Sophie Steculorum, who presented her research on the sensory regulation of metabolism and its role in metabolic health and disease.

Career perspectives were provided by Dr. Isabelle Schiffer, who discussed non-linear career paths and learning through experience, and Dr. Felix Schuster, who highlighted opportunities in research and development in biotech SMEs.

HRD doctoral researchers contributed with poster presentations and short talks, showcasing their research and engaging in lively scientific discussions. In addition, team-building activities encouraged exchange and interaction across groups, further strengthening the HRD community. The day concluded with a PUB quiz, which brought the event to a fun close and definitely could not be missed.
