1st Research Visit in Canada

As the first HRD exchange student, our doctoral researcher Alina (Dr. Maria Rohm's group) spent three months in Edmonton at the University of Alberta, starting this January.

The scientific visit at the Alberta Diabetes Institute (ADI) had to be postponed several times due to the pandemic and everyone was very excited that it was finally possible.

Alina was warmly welcomed by Prof. Patrick McDonald´s lab, Department of Pharmacology, and by the ADI Coordinator Dr. Vince Rogers.

Even in this short time, Alina learned new techniques, while working with human tissue material that adds valuable and translational insights to her project.

With more exchange students planned for this summer and fall, we are looking forward to strengthening the HDC-ADI collaboration and expanding the scientific network for joint future projects.
